 I dont like germs!

Healthcare is a very important aspect in my life due to the lifetime illness of my sister and the many surgeries she underwent. While many aspects of healthcare are important, the relation between disease and microbes has lead to one of the most important revolutions in medicine. Most of these original ideas were based upon religous texts and theology. The development of the modern germ theory of disease is most credited to Louis Pasteur, however, there were others before Pasteur who had proposed that living contagous agents caused disease. Without the development of this theory, places like hospitals and doctors' offices would continue to be breeding grounds of germs and illness.
